New York Island Redesigned to Withstand Rising Sea Levels

As first reported by the Guardian:
Amid rising sea levels, a park on the island uses Dutch ingenuity to protect itself while maintaining its beauty – with barely a seawall to be seen.

A Dutch firm, recognizing that climate change mitigation was an essential part any restoration project, made sure that Governor’s Island was designed as a landscape that could survive storms and sea levels rising.
